Tranquility hat finished

Finished the Tranquility hat I started yesterday. I have two other wips (both hats as well) that I plan to finish this week. Once those are completed, I will focus on finishing the afghan I started last summer. It's over 2/3 complete, and I have just got to bite the bullet and get it done.

After that I can take to my yarn I purchased yesterday and begin churning out cozies for the holidays. I can't believe I'm saying that so early in the year!

New projects

Today I went to my favorite yarn shop in Minnesota, The Yarn Cafe. I sat with several fellow knitters and worked on a hat called the Tranquility Hat.

I purchased four cakes of yarn for mug cozies and am really excited to get started on making these great novelty gifts. I also purchased a pattern for a dog sweater. Although spring is upon us, I'm already making plans for keeping my dog, Stella, warm next winter. Lot's of projects in the works; looks like I'm going to be busy in the coming months.

My First Entry!

Hi everyone. This is my first go around with blogging. I work in the healthcare field and travel with my job. Knitting is my portable entertainment when I'm out on the road. As it so happens, it's also my entertainment of choice when at home too.

I began knitting about 10 years ago, but have been what I consider a serious knitter for only the past four years. When I was about seven years old, my grandmother taught me to crochet and I continued with the craft. My grandmother, who never learned to knit, was so excited that I kept with it and made a comment once that she wanted to find someone to teach me to knit. She passed away before that happened, and I decided that I would honor her by making her wish come true by learning to knit. While I didn't care for it as much as my beloved crochet for the first few years, I eventually became better and now have had a total reversal in my preference and love to knit more than crochet.

I'm always working on a project and decided it was time to start keeping track of them, and my frame of mind while in the process. I hope you all enjoy.
